Did you know that @Yahoo profits from the sale of dolphin & whale meat products from Taiji’s killing cove? Tell them to stop! @callofthecove

Make Yahoo! permanently ban the sales of dolphin and whale meat on Yahoo! Japan. Melissa Sehgal’s Change.org petition to Amazon.com achieved victory in March 2012, thanks to 200,000+ people who signed the petition and let Amazon.com CEO Jeff Bezos know that they would not buy any items from Amazon.com unless the company stopped selling dolphin and whale meat products permanently. It worked!

You may not buy products from Yahoo!, but do you have a Yahoo! e-mail account? Do you advertise on Yahoo!? Do you share Yahoo! news links on your social channels? Do you do searches on Yahoo! or use their services such as Flickr? Did you know that the website for The Ellen DeGeneres Show is hosted by Yahoo! Shine? Did you know that websites for ABC News programs in the U.S., such as Good Morning America, are hosted by Yahoo! News?

Now is the time to put intense pressure on Yahoo!, which owns 33% of Yahoo! Japan.

FEATURED CALL TO ACTION: (Takes less than 5 minutes)

E-mail media-inquiries@yahoo-inc.com; advertise.me@yahoo-inc.com to let Yahoo! know it is unacceptable to profit from the slaughter of whales and dolphins. Send a polite but firm e-mail to ask for a permanent ban on the sale of whale and dolphin products on Yahoo! Japan. If you would like to see a sample letter, click here.

You can also send a protest to Softbank, the major Japanese financial investor in Yahoo! Japan, at pr@softbank.co.jp. NOTE: Softbank requires comments in Japanese. Use Google Translate to send an e-mail in Japanese. Write or copy & paste your words into the left box, and Google will provide a translation you can paste into your e-mail.

Special thanks to the Environmental Investigation Agency for their report on Yahoo! and the recommended strategies to permanently end the sale of whale and dolphin meat on Yahoo! Japan.
